What's up ^^

Wow we've been a pretty silent community of late.  How has everyone been?  Enjoying TBC?

I've been having a fairly decent time all around, I suppose.  Not a big fan of faction grinding, but at least it isn't as bad as trying to rep up Timbermaw or something :X

Alchemy is driving me absolutely batty.  I've gotten most of the static spawn drops (except for a few out of instances).  Holy Protection recipe is evading me.  The idea of "discovering" new recipes from making others is pretty neat, but again... it's been a total frustration to me.  For a week or two I was busting out a few hundred pots daily and managed to discover absolutely nada.  Pretty much giving up on going out of my way on it.  I'm hoping when raiding starts up in earnest again soon I'll have more luck doing pot combines for guildies.

Anyone have any idea whatever happened to that "live maintenance" thing they were trying to do?  I think they did it once, sometime pre-TBC, but never saw it happen again.  (By "live maintenance" I mean when they tried to do maint without the Tuesday downtime.)

Anywho, pretty bored.  If anyone needs a healer (or fakedps) for something horde-side holler at me :)  If I'm not wrapped up in a guild group I'm usually pretty happy to go.  Instances I'm actively LOOKING for (for recipes) are Old Hillsbrad, Mana Tombs and Mechanar, and could use some Shattered Halls love for rep :X  I slack and wound up skipping most of that zone leveling so I'm a wee bit behind on the rep curve.  But yeah, happy to do anything.  Sitting around in Shatt twiddling my thumbs kinda sucks!

Mmm, you're making me want to start playing again.
Hey there you :)

What're you up to these days anywho?
When I perma-quit in August it was mostly because I was starting a job I actually gave a damn about. Luckily I still feel that way half a year later, so I guess I'd say "working hard" is one of the things I'm up to. Other than that, mostly just bopping along the merry road of life with the family and all that.

I do miss WoW, or rather, I miss the 2 AM 5-man instances with friends. If I ever return -- unlikely, but you never know -- it'll be to do those. I see no reason ever to raid again.

What 'bout y'all?
I actually ended up taking off from Uther for the most part. My chars are still there, but for the most part sit unplayed. I let my brother use the account to mess around in PvP for a while before the xpac, and they're still at 60 since. I needed a bit of a change, so I went off and played up a paladin, thinking I wanted to give it a try as a possible prelude to rolling a belf pally to play up. But by the time the xpac came I wasn't really sure I'd have a spot in the guild even if I did come back, etc etc... plus just not really looking forward to grinding up another paladin. So mostly been focusing on that other char. Toying with the joys of pally tanking. I've been thinking of reviving one of my Hordies tho. I kinda miss Horde. Just was focused on getting the pally to 70 and playing around with that content a bit... and since I've gotten there, I seem to spend almost all my time running or organizing instance runs trying to get everyone rolling in the content.

As for outside of WoW, status quo for the most part. I was going to be starting a project that would've taken most of this year to complete, but the customer had some funding issues at the last moment, so we were on hold for a bit. Now it's looking like it won't happen, from what I can hear, so probably going to get on something else. Not sure exactly what yet.

I'll let Jes respond with what she's been up to, since I'm sure she's having tons of fun at home with server maintenance going on.

I will say, one of the things I've been enjoying a lot in the xpac is getting back to the 5-mans. If that's the part of the game you enjoyed, there's ample opportunity for it atm. I haven't even started on the heroics yet. /tempt ;)
Been playing. I'm still on Muradin. Someday I may actually remember to go find a LiveJournal plug-in that can cross-post, so I can have my tales of adventure on my journal and wow_muradin. (Speaking of which, I'm way behind on that....)

We have two 70's in our guild already, with others close behind. I'm at the back of the pack with a 63 hunter and a 61 pally. ('Will take just as long to get from 60 to 70 as from 1 to 60....' Yeah, right....)

Worse, the upped hardware requirements are a bit more than my system can deliver (Zangarmarsh was completely unworkable until I turned everything down to the minimum.)

Anyway, still playing, haven't stopped, been enjoying the new content. ^_^
Ooooh if you had problems with Zangarmarsh you're going to have absolute hell with Netherstorm =( (level 68ish+ zone) Dunno what exactly they've got going up there but it plays hell with my card. Probably all those big, shiny consortium domes.

For cross-posting things, might check out Semagic. Been using that for a few years now and pretty happy with it. Here's LJ's general list of clients:

Thanks for the advice! I looked at the list a little while ago and said "None of this tells me what can do cross-posting, which is the only thing I care about." (As I'm quite happy with the default interface.)

-_-;;

Netherstorm, wonderful.... I really wish Bliz hadn't gotten quite so carried away with the special effects, and put a warning on the box saying "If your system struggled before, be cautious when getting this." I don't really blame them, but I do think that they should have realized that a fair number of their users were probably scraping along on the old specs.
